Alzheimer’s Association hopes The Longest Day informs, helps

(Under Rachel Illingworth)

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Longest Day is a signature event for the Alzheimer’s Association held on the summer solstice in June.

On June 21, 2015, people around the world will be honoring those with the disease participating in things they love to do, like trying a new hobby or choosing an activity a friend or family member would enjoy.

Last year, 1,100 teams participating in the Longest Day raised $2 million.

This year, Anne Murray, with the Alzheimer’s Association, and Molly Godby, whose mother has Alzheimer's, is hoping the event will raise even more.

Teams can register to participate for $20, which includes a tote of information and tips.
